Just very pleased that the club seems to be looking at young, pacey players. Now we just have to hope the scours and coaches get it right.

I think this is a good move. Do 20 year olds get injured?

Looking forward to seeing if our injury issues improve under Lewin too. Having changed the medical Director, and moved to Rush Green, responsibility should move elsewhere for injuries.

http://owngoalnigeria.com/2017/06/12/breaking-eupen-turn-down-west-ham-7m-bid-for-onyekuru-reveals-reasons/

As Exclusively reported by Owngoalnigeria.com yesterday English Premier League outfit the only team to have submitted a bid for hot in demand Eupen forward Henry Onyekuru have had their bid rejected.

West Ham tabled a bid of around £7m for Onyekuru, which fell short of Eupen asking price of ‎£7.8m for the forward who finished as joint top scorer in Belgium with 24 goals.

The reason as to why West Ham bid was rejected isn’t about the asking price as we gathered but rather Eupen believes the club is not prestigious enough for the recently turned 20 year old Nigerian forward.

Linked with a move to Arsenal, Eupen rejection of West Ham bid on the grounds of prestige could mean they are still hoping Arsenal will return for the forward despite the gunners pulling out of talks for him last week.

Everton, Swansea City and Southampton are the other English teams in the running to sign Onyekuru, who failed to make the matchday squad for Nigeria in their 0-2 loss to South Africa on Saturday.

Eupen can fuck right off, the precious twats. Not prestigious enough for our money to be considered good enough for them? Cunts!

If it ends up with only us at the table, they'll soon see us a prestigious enough to cough up some readies for them.

Re: Henry Onyekuru?
So the asking price is £7.8m and we offer £7m. Why would you do that? For £800k. Course this is Owngoalnigeria so it could be as usual a load of media made up bollocks. But it does smack of the two Daves hand on it

Re: Henry Onyekuru?
Unless I'm missing something -and assuming we've actually made a bid and it's not all just media bullshit- if we'd bid the asking price we would have triggered the release clause. So Eupen would have had no say in it.

Re: Henry Onyekuru?
Meant to say. To me 'not prestigious enough' sounds more like something an agent would say, rather than a club?

I'm still unsure how seriously to take owngoalnigeria, and can't help but wonder if it's this season's Brentwood Gazette.

This is bang on. Any club would take our £7m as much as Arsenal's £7m. This is the agent/player's doing.

Premier League side West Ham are preparing a second bid for in-demand Nigerian striker Henry Onyekuru.

A seven million pounds bid from the Hammers was rejected outright as it failed to meet Eupen's asking price, but the London Stadium outfit remain keen on the youngster.

''West Ham are going to put in a second bid for Henry Onyekuru, they will also bid for Kelechi,'' a top source told allnigeriasoccer.com.

''The first bid was rejected because Eupen believe he is worth more money, but West Ham are very keen on Henry.''

Onyekuru, 20, has yet to make his competitive debut for the Nigerian national team, therefore, interested Premier League teams must pay a hefty fee otherwise he won't be issued a work permit in England.

Arsenal, Newcastle United and Swansea City are believed to be monitoring the situation of Onyekuru with a view to a transfer in the summer transfer window.
